Happy December

Hi Everyone,

I have been very delinquent in getting this blog out.  I have wanted to write this one for a long time because Makenna is changing so much and is able to do so much now.  Finding time to look through my photos, edit them (red eye, crop etc.) and write a summary of the past few weeks has been really difficult!  I can only work on my blog once the kids are in bed and that is the time I use to get household chores done and sleep so that doesn't leave much time.  Ok, enough excuses - everyone is busy:)

Well, it has been an amazing month and a half or so since our last blog.  Makenna is now an expert crawler!  She gets places fast and she looks so little to be moving so fast:)  She is also now pulling herself up on everything including the back of my pant legs when I am trying to make dinner.  It is getting very tricky to make dinner and watch the kids at the same time.  I knew from the beginning that she would be an early crawler/walker.  She was always sqirmy and full of energy.  Anika is enjoying Makenna's new talents.  She has crawling races with her and today she played a game with Makenna by throwing a toy and racing Makenna to it and then throwing it again and racing to it.  It was really cute to watch.  This afternoon, I also found Anika holding Makenna's hands and helping Makenna to walk.  It freaked me out because I know Anika cannot stop Makenna from falling and hurting herself but at the same time it was so wonderful to see.  They are such great sisters:)

Makenna continues to get more teeth.  She seems to always be teething.  Her eye teeth have come down further and one tooth beside her bottom teeth has come in.  Her most recent teeth to show are her two front teeth.  One came in yesterday and the second one just showed today.  She is going to look so old with all her teeth and walking soon.  Yikes!  Where did my little baby go??

Anika started ballet and is enjoying it for the most part.  Sometimes she gets a bit discouraged if she can't do something or feels???  She seems to want to go every time so we keep going:)  Anika has also started swimming lessons again.  It is fun to see her doing activities with her little group and the swim teacher.

Early in November, Makenna's Birth Mother, Jessie and her brother, Josh (Uncle Josh) and his wife, Nikki (Auntie Nikki) and their son, Weston (cousin) visited us.  It was great to meet Jess' brother and his wife and to see the two kids together.  Weston is only a couple weeks older than Makenna so they are pretty much at the same stage.  It was a great weekend.

Last weekend we went to Manitoba to visit Ken's relatives.  Most of them had not met Makenna so it was great to see them.  I flew out with the girls and Ken met me at the airport in Winnipeg because he came from a work trip to New York.  It was a challenging plane ride as Makenna was tired but does not really like to fall asleep on your lap.  She likes to be in her crib or in the car seat but not on your lap.  So, she was extra squirmy.  The flight attendant even took her for a walk up and down the aisle a couple times.  (just like the Westjet commercials). It was a great break for my arms as they were getting tired of trying to keep my squirming Makenna from falling off my lap:)  Needless to say, Ken was on Makenna duty on the way home:)

Anyways, enough writing!  The photos:)

Enjoy and Take Care,

Love Jennifer (and Ken, Anika and Makenna)  :)

Our jack-o-lantern this year - thank you for growing us this great pumpkin Dad:)

Makenna as a pumpkin for Halloween:)

Makenna and Anika (a dog) on Halloween night:)

Ken, Makenna, Anika and myself at Betty's house (neighbour at the end of the street) for Halloween.  She takes a photo of us every year when we come to the door and she sends it to us that night each year!  She had a special Halloween treat for Anika (a book with crayons and treats).   Thank you Betty:)

Anika at ballet.  I don't have a good photo of her yet.  I forgot my camera the second week and now we are in the earlier class where the Moms participate so it is harder to take photos.

Anika likes to cheer up Makenna when she wakes up fussing.  She climbs right in the crib with her:)  Makenna loves it:)

Anika, Ken and Makenna at a Canucks open practice.  Makenna looks bored but Anika found it exciting:)

Makenna with Uncle Jason's girlfriend, Lynne

Makenna with Uncle Jason who is sporting a little extra facial hair since he has been living in a cabin in the middle of no where (a few hours west of Williams Lake) with no electricity, no running water and no indoor plumbing:)  It was great to see them and we hope the winter goes ok at the cabin:)

Grandpa Earwaker having a tea party with Anika:)

Well, that is it:)  We hope you enjoyed them:)
